Grounds Technician JOB
Summary:
The Grounds Technician maintains activities pertaining to the Company grounds, parking areas and roads.
In addition to applying pesticides and fertilizers as necessary, grounds maintenance ensures the proper pruning and trimming of trees and shrubs to maintain a pleasant appearance and plant health.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Remove daily trash debris throughout campus Mow, weed, rake all open spaces as needed Trim/Prune landscaping seasonally Replenish annuals around flag poles as needed Weed & rock around structures throughout scheduled maintenance Blow leaves/debris off structures, roofs, cages, porches and walkways and towers Maintain 4' - 6' space between perimeter fence and campus border Maintain/repair, order all grounds equipment as needed Trim back tree branches impeding animal structures, roofs and paths, remove tree stumps Power wash administration buildings, bridges, sheds seasonally Maintain all company vehicles (wash down, vacuum, wipe down interior, add/change fluids, check tires) on a schedule Arrange for vehicles to be transported to local mechanics as needed for repair, alignment etc.
Communicate with other departments as needed Maintain all campus roads, parking areas; repair potholes, add sand/rock/crush & run routinely Maintain wood fence repairs/paint, drainage/ditches Assist with new construction projects providing seed, dig ditches for drain, site work and road installation Performs other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must have a valid driver's license High school diploma or GED is required Good communication skills Critical thinking skills Must be able to observe situations and make appropriate response Must be able to work with speed Ability to operate light equipment EDUCATION Have at least a High school diploma or GED.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
