A Clinical Veterinarian is needed for our facility located in Yemassee, South Carolina.
Major responsibilities include the provision of hands-on clinical care for a large colony of old and new world primates and participation as needed in medical research that may include neurological, obstetric, or ophthalmic surgical procedures.
The Clinical Veterinarian will perform veterinary exams, surgical diagnostic tests, and maintain the health of the colony.
The Clinical Veterinarian will supervise several staff as well as work alongside other staff veterinarians.
The position will provide oversight and leadership for veterinary and research personnel.
Good written and oral communication skills are needed as the Clinical Veterinarian may be called on to participate in client services and communications, review and draft standard veterinary operating procedures and to review grant and contract applications.
Qualifications/Experience :
DVM/VMD degree from accredited institution required Eligibility and ability to obtain South Carolina state veterinary license Laboratory primate experience highly desired Good oral and written communication skills Computer skills (Access, Word, Excel) 3 years or more years of experience preferred, however newly graduated Veterinarians are welcome to apply Salary/funding :
Salary will be dependent upon experience and qualifications.
